“You’ll Never Walk Alone“is a tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Carousel.” It was adopted by the Liverpool Football Club as their anthem in the 1960’s. Over a dozen clubs around the world have since followed Liverpool’s example.
This reminds us that even through the most difficult times there is hope … a hope for a better tomorrow, and with support by our side, burdens become lighter as we look for a brighter future.
YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE
“When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your hearts
And you ‘II never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone.
CHRIST DIED and ROSE AGAIN TO SET YOU FREE
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
In the Bible, the Word of GOD, just before the disciples of Jesus were about to face their darkest hour, as Jesus was about to be arrested and crucified, He said to them:
“Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in GOD, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And whither I go you know, and the way you know…
I am the Way; the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me…
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world sees Me no more; but you see Me: because I live, you shall live also.
At that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you, If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for My Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe.” John 14
The Lord in the Letter to the Hebrews said :
“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Hebrews 13:5-6
Our eternal home is not of this world for we, as faithful Abraham did so long ago, should look “for a City which has foundations, whose builder and maker is GOD.” Hebrews 11:10
Matthew’s gospel closes with the words of Jesus:“And, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20
A Friend To Walk With You Always
Do you have such a friend, as Jesus, to walk with you always? The very One who went to the cross to pay the price of God’s judgment for your sin and who now sits at God’s right hand and says “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20
Take Him as your Saviour – and you’ll truly never walk alone.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.” Acts 16:31
