Excuse Me

Excuse Me

You and I Met today not altogether by chance. I may not have had the opportunity to speak with you personally to become better acquainted but will you permit me to share with you the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me.

Some time ago I met and became personally acquainted with the most remarkable person, so great, so good and so outstanding that it has become a joy, mission and passion for me introduce Him to others. The great tragedy is that so many know about Him, but so few know Him personally. You have probably already guessed that I am speaking about Jesus Christ.

To some He is little more than a work of curse and blasphemy. To others He is a source of embarrassment. But to those who know Him, He is just simply, wonderful.

A man named Paul severely persecuted the first Christians but after he met Jesus personally, Paul’s life was totally changed and transformed.

Paul said,
“This is faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15

It is offensive to us and hurts our pride to admit our failure and need to honour, respect and worship the One true God. But our lawless living and way of “doing it all our own way” is deeply offensive to God. We have, everyone of us, broken God’s holy commands and sinned so often against God and our neighbour. But how truly wonderful it is to experience God’s mercy and power in Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and to heal us with the gift of a new life, a new heart and a new destiny.

God is perfect in justice and holiness and must judge all sin and sinners, but has in mercy and in His great love prepared a world-wide amnesty for all. Everyone has been promised equal and perfect non-preferential justice before God, for all mankind and their works will be judged by the timeless and perfect moral law of God. We shall all give an account of ourselves to God.

Reader, whatever your disappointment with people, your disillusionment with life and your confusion about religion, let me assure you that it is not the fault of Jesus Christ. He has been misrepresented, betrayed, hated, denied and cursed by man but He remains majestically the Lord, Saviour and Redeemer of the world, and
He now in love appeals to all of earth’s billions and to you, to
“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

This incomparable “rest” is God’s salvation from the guilt of all committed lawlessnesses and sin against God. A present freedom and salvation from the power of Satan in this life is yours if you believe in and trust Christ. The glorious future of a certain home in heaven is promised to all who repent and believe before God’s true and pure, judgment is executed.

Will you believe Him?

Of course this shall mean the need of a total change of mind toward God and sorrow expressed to God for those offenses committed against Him. You will need to seek God’s forgiveness.

Will you seek Him?

This will also include an acknowledgement that God is true in all that He has said and done in the death of His Son Jesus Christ. “Christ died for the ungodly.”

“For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Friend, seek God’s forgiveness for your sins today and experience the wonder of the cleansing power of Jesus Christ. “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1John 1:7

Call upon the Name of the Lord today, tomorrow may well be too late!
