Jesus said … : “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. ” ( John 11:25)
If we do not believe that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, we would also not be able to believe that a mere mortal will rise again from death.
We must know precisely that the person who has said: ” I am the resurrection, and the life”, He is not just any common human being , He is the Saviour of all mankind. He is Christ, the Son of the Living God.
The good news of the resurrection is that, because Christ has risen from death, those who believe in Him will have the same assurance : “though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
When Jesus Christ said the above words to Martha, He was very near to the path of the cross. However, for the sake of glorifying the Father and for the sake of showing the world that He was sent by Him, He needed to perform one miracle: to raise Lazarus from death, even after he had died four days before hand.
How is the resurrection good news to you and to me?
For Lazarus himself, he had experienced real resurrection on that day! For Martha, who had heard from her own ears the Lord’s promise of resurrection, had eye-witnessed the resurrection of her own brother!
For us, who believe in Him, because of the Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection, we could also receive this promise and attain this assurance: “he that believeth in me,though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
Today, my body is perishable and corruptive, on that very Day, it will not only be resurrected; it will also become an incorruptible and ever-living body. And it will be able to live with God in His glory for ever and ever.
Do not wait until the resurrection after death; even now, you could have a taste of this resurrection life. When you trust in Jesus Christ, His resurrection power will come upon you. You could then experience this vibrant life power.
The resurrection of Christ has ascertained to us his accomplishment of the salvation.
Why? Because God has already called sinners “justified”; and He has forfeited their deserved penalties. So that those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ, will receive a new and eternal life.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ , he is a new creature : old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ” (II Corinthians 5:17)
Friend , do you believe in the resurrection ? From the moment you start trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will attain this resurrection life.
