Listen:  Satisfaction

“I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE, HE THAT COMETH TO ME SHALL NEVER HUNGER; AND HE THAT BELIEVETH ON ME SHALL NEVER THIRST.” ~John 6:35~

Is this a statement of reality? Is Jesus Christ really the bread and food of life? Never to hunger and never to thirst because I believe on Him? Really?? Jesus Christ certainly stated Himself to be the bread of life. Christ powerfully stated that all hunger and thirst that exists in the heart of mankind, He Christ alone can satisfy.

I am the bread of life, he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

This is an incredible statement of reality or one of total delusion and deception.  God the Son is here referring to that deep, abiding satisfaction that is enjoyed by those who believe in Him.  He died for all the just for the unjust to ring us to God. He brings all who believe on Him to God, satisfied and fulfilled forever.  What a glorious result of God’s grace and salvation. It is His death for you that satisfies the righteousness of God.  Sin’s penalty is death.  It is His risen life imparted to you that justifies and satisfies forever.

“…If we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” Romans 4:24-25

This deep satisfaction is readily experienced by those who believe in Christ.  It is they who know completely and marvelously that He satisfies the heart and soul of all will come to Him with forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

Christ alone can meet the question of the residual guilt from committed, sinful lawlessnesses against God and man.  Christ alone can deal with sin, for He is the Saviour Who saves from the penalty, power and presence of sin.

No matter whether living in an affluent or poor society, people mostly concern themselves with satisfying their material and physical appetites.  So much is physical satisfaction sought that many are unable to recognize nor identify the dissatisfied yearning and deep spiritual hunger that exists in the heart.

This condition of heart is often misunderstood but nonetheless the driving force in society that continues to cause widespread deficiency and imbalance.

People need much more than food-bread-rice for life and satisfaction.  Everyone needs to feed on every Word of the One true God to ever be satisfied.

“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” Matthew 4:4

It is possible to be physically gluttonous, obese gourmet eaters and yet be spiritually starved at the same time.  It is a sad but true fact that the realization of spiritual malnutrition is not always apparent as is the soon-felt chronic pain of physical malnutrition!

Most have sensed at one time or other, a deep spiritual inner hunger that craves satisfaction.  The remedy is to not drown this sense, drug it or depress it!  The remedy is Jesus Christ.  The matter to face is the fact that God should be the central issue in one’s life.  Come to God, believe His word now for He satisfies and satisfies completely.

Lawless disobedience to God is the cause, and Christ is the cure!

If any person is willing to acknowledge to God their spiritual need and ask God to keep His promise in the gospel, then Jesus Christ the Bread of Life will certainly meet and satisfy all spiritual hunger, thirst and need.  His is life, love and satisfying joy to all who believe Him.  His invitation is clear –

Look and live! Jesus died to save and satisfy you forever!

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without price.  Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?  And your labour for that which satisfieth not?  Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness” Isaiah 55:1-2

More than any food or health product promise, we can say to you – Satisfaction guaranteed!

People of every land and nation have asked this question, “Where can real, lasting and complete satisfaction be found?”

The happiness that rests upon the possessions of this world has always proven disappointing and unsatisfactory.  The pleasures of life are all so transient and temporary.  The most cherished object of our heart may perish in a moment of time and the empty gaieties of life like a dream in the morning, soon pass away.

The Bible says:
“…The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.” Ecclesiastes. 1:8

“He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase…” Ecclesiastes. 5:10

“Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” Isaiah 55:2

The lord Jesus Christ alone can satisfy the human heart.
“For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” Psalm 107:9

“…The lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought…and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” Isaiah 58:11

“They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Thy house; and Thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures” Psalm 36:8

“As for me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy Likeness.” Psalm 17:15

You ask, how can He satisfy?  The one sacrifice of Jesus Christ for sin has met and satisfied forever the righteous demand of God.  God is satisfied and now you may be also in the worth of the finished work of Jesus Christ for you.

Those who believe, know and love the Saviour have been forgiven and cleansed through the work of Christ upon the cross and can say:

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life; in thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11

The Lord Jesus satisfies completely in this life all who now come to Him.  Then there is the promise of fullness of joy and glory for evermore.

Look to Him, believe in Him and experience it for yourself!

HAS HE DONE THIS FOR YOU?   IF NOT – WHY NOT?
